Farm gate prices up 4.9 per cent in February
Farm gate prices rose by an annual 4.9 percent in February, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday.
Crop prices were up by 6.2 percent and animal and animal product prices by 2.6 percent.
Grain prices rose by 18.1 percent, while vegetable prices fell by 16.3 percent. The price of potatoes dropped by 18.0 percent.
The price of live animals dropped by 0.8 percent, but the price of animal products rose by 10.0 percent.
The price of pigs for slaughter declined by 7.5 percent to 357 forints (EUR 1.1) per kilogramme.
The price of milk increased by 7.7 percent and the price of eggs rose by 22.0 percent.
In January-February, farm gate prices were up by 2.6 percent year-on-year. Crop prices rose by 3.0 percent and animal and animal product prices increased by 2.0 percent.
