Surprising: Fidesz politician shares strongest criticism of Russia so far
A Fidesz politician recently said something that can be considered unusual coming from the party. Zsolt Németh has previously made statements about Russia and NATO that differ from official government communications and Fidesz propaganda: however, he has never been so direct in his opposition to the Orbán direction when it comes to the conflict in our neighbourhood.

Strong statements made by the Fidesz politician
“As far as the past 25 years are concerned, if we were not members of NATO now, it would probably not be Ukraine that would be defending itself against a Russian attack, but us”, Zsolt Németh began his speech at the conference of the Hungarian Atlantic Society (Magyar Atlanti Társaság) on Tuesday 7 May at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Magyar Tudományos Akadémia), Válasz Online reports.
The Fidesz politician has been outspoken before about this, but he has never been so clear to say that anyone who raises the question of NATO’s responsibility for the Russian invasion of Ukraine is not only spreading lies but is also acting against the Hungarian interest, for those who threaten Hungarian sovereignty are the Russians.
Németh: NATO is not an anti-Russian organisation

“NATO, whatever President Putin’s esteemed propagandists may say, is not an anti-Russian organisation, it does not plan to attack Russia and never has, but it can protect its members from a Russian attack. Russia cannot limit Hungarian sovereignty by military means because we are a member of NATO,” Zsolt Németh said.
According to the politician, “the fact that Russia sees this defence alliance as a threat is simply proof that it wants to dominate NATO members – or at least part of NATO members – and that NATO is making this impossible. Russia’s behaviour says more about itself than it does about us,” the Fidesz politician added.
According to Németh, Hungary’s membership of NATO is of the greatest importance since we joined 25 years ago because of the war, and therefore we must take a firm stand against those efforts that seek to turn Hungarian public opinion against NATO.

“Any deception of public opinion on NATO is now a direct threat to the physical security and sovereignty of our country,” he said. He added that it is part of Russia’s military strategy to use various actions to undermine confidence in NATO and the importance of NATO membership in Central European countries.
According to the Fidesz politician, “it is extremely damaging to repeat the idea that the Russian-Ukrainian war broke out because of NATO”.
Németh also said that there is no Hungarian interest in Russia being able to arbitrarily tell other countries whether or not they can exercise their rights under international law. “We must not set a precedent for Russia to tell anyone else, because then it will tell us,” he added.

NATOexist because of the US and very much involved in the in the corruption that was Eukraine and still is. Russia is 1/10th the size of the west in tech and armory. Imajine Russia blowing up a pipe line worth billions. Russians a are Europeans and the have been driven to partner with China. They keep talking how corrupt Ukraine is when the west is a big part of it, when the Obama and Biden were a big part of it. The US is a very devided country and the opposition is a big part of the corruption. They impeached a president From 5 minutes of a phone call questioning corruption in Ukraine.
The CONCENTRATION – there focus – over the 14 years they have been the Government of Hungary, under there present leader, and current Prime Minister of Hungary – Victor Orban, the Orban – Fidesz Government, through there inability to practice conduct themselves under and to the Laws of Membership of the European Union, or there want to COMPLY, being “Judged of Guilt” by the Courts of Justice of the European Union, through un-lawful acts of funding not used by Hungary, under the lodgement(s) /application process as reason(s) of submissions, there Fraudulent – misappropriation of Funding, and in those 14 years, we have witnessed Victor Orban “playing out” the Distillation of Democracy in Hungary, that Factually progresses on, at a RAPID pace, under Victor Orban’s Prime Ministership – his Leadership of the Fidesz Party Government of Hungary.
Orbans leadership, that of his Fidesz Government, have NOT performed as a Government, who put CITIZENS first.
Multitudes of examples can be written, that HIGHLIGHTS this FACT, that what, after 14 years in POWER in Government, just LOOK what we the citizens of Hungary, have BEEN delivered by the Orban – Fidesz Government.
Hungary, a country, that have been BASTARDIZED – sold off, abused, insulted, humiliated, abandoned “starved” of TRUTH, by the Orban – Fidesz Government – that has in the lives of Hungarians, in there millions, seen there quality of life literally MASSACURED, by the Political Policies “played out” – that has inflicted on them, citizens of Hungary, in millions, and it CONTINUES, who are the Massive, the gargantuan LOSERS – firstly and secondly – Hungary.
Millions of LIVES have been WRECKED by the WRONGFULNESS of the practices “played out” by the Orban – Fidesz Government.
Through the Focus of the Orban Fidesz Government, it’s building Relationships and Partnerships with China and Russia, that has taken PRIORITY in there Governance of Hungary, that has been the MASSIVE contributor in seeing in millions, the life quality, there FUTURE – taken removed from them, by the Policies, the PRIORITIZATION(s) “played out” by the Orban – Fidesz Party.
Citizens in there MILLIONS have been FAILED that continues, there country being SOLD Out, taken removed from them, by the RECKLESS Political ideologies of Victor Orban, that WE suffer, that will WORSEN.
Do we UNDERSTAND the magnitude of WHAT is happening in Hungary ???
Do we CARE ?
Are we content, just to live day by day, manage best we can, in a Political environment, governed in line as a Dictatorship, under Laws of Communism ?
Do we want to be a Member of the European Union ?
Do we want to be part of NATO ?
Do we BELIEVE – we can Stand Alone – have NO friendships, as it is CURRENTLY – with country’s that are DEMOCRACY’s ?
Do we believe the present population of Hungary say 9.6 million, an ageing society, do we BELIEVE for us, our families, our Grand-children – that our, the FUTURE of Hungary lies in being BEST served – under a Dictatorship, communistic Governance ?
14 years – what HAVE we been DELIVERED ???
WHAT do WE see – want of our FUTURE ? – and for the FUTURE of Hungary ???
Uglier times that will bring DEEPER pain to citizens of Hungary are imminent – Be Prepared.

It’s incredible to have the truth about NATO, Russia and Hungary’s security coming from a Fidesz politician. The Russians probably have already picked up the phone to complain to Orban. It will be interesting to see if Zsolt Nemeth will receive some disciplinary measures for this from the party or perhaps this will just be swept under the rug and he will be told to avoid such statements in future. Every country in Europe that has joined NATO has obviously done so for its’ protection from Russia as Sweden and Finland have recently demonstrated. TM showed up to put out some Kremlin directed disinformation complete with spelling mistakes. If it was not for the US providing a needed anchor for NATO the Russians would have rolled over half of Europe. Always be thankful for US assistance for NATO and what they did with the Marshall Plan which revived European economies after WWII.

If it wasn´t for the Americans and them joining the fight as well as offering financial assistance (Lend Lease – USSR numbers https://ww2data.com/ussr-production-versus-lend-lease-support/ – Ukraine getting a mention… ), we would all be speaking German.
Re NATO – it was thanks to Mr. Reagan and cross-Atlantic cooperation within NATO that we regained our freedom, and that we live in a relative sense of security, now.
