Finding the govermental measures leading to brokerage scandal
The investigating body consists of 7 members – 4 governmental and 3 opposition –, and its president will be Lajos Szűcs (Fidesz). They would examine the last 15-20 years, for example that why the government had loosened the control over the financial institutions before 2010, and that what kind of responsibility the Bajnai Government had in this respect.
The sub-committee is an investigating body, beside the Committee on Budgets, which were established to point out the governmental measures leading to abuses by the investment firms concerned in the brokerage scandal: the Buda-Cash, the Quaestor, and the Hungária Értékpapír Zrt. The decision was made at the meeting of the Committee on Monday where the majority voted ‘yes’. Lajos Szűcs said that they would examine the last 15-20 years, for example that why the government had loosened the control over the financial institutions before 2010, and that what kind of responsibility the Bajnai Government had in this respect, or what personal relations might play a role between the firms concerned in the brokerage scandal and the officials of Gyurcsány-Bajnai Government.
