First female President of Hungary listed among female world leaders who have a law degree
The number of women Prime Ministers and Presidents across the world who have studied law has increased to 15, out of the total current 32, with the election of Katalin Novák as the president of Hungary, who at the same time is the first woman President in the history of this country.
She puts Hungary on the list of the world’s countries that have a female head of state, either as a prime minister or president. Novák holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Szeged, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, which is the most common degree of the current female leaders as another 14 women in the two key leading positions worldwide hold such degree.
After law, the 2nd most common degrees of current women world leaders are politics and politics-related degrees like international relations and public administration.
Erudera.com, the world’s first education search platform backed by Artificial Intelligence, has conducted a study on the most common degrees of the current female leaders and it has also found that only 29 world countries have a female Prime Minister and/or President and 15 of the women leaders are at the head of a country located in the continent of Europe.
According to Erudera’s education expert, Donjeta Pllana, there is no other research up to date that has tended to focus on the current female world leaders and their educational background with the purpose of coming to such a conclusion.
“Even though almost half of women leaders hold a degree in law, it still is not research-proved that a student who studies law is more likely to become a Prime Minister or President. Yet, our study shows that such a degree is enormously helpful in understanding the system, and that is why people who complete their studies in this field have an advantage to those studying other fields, in particular to those studying natural sciences,” Pllana explains.
According to the findings of the study:
- Number of countries in the world that have ever had a female head of state or government has never been higher than in 2022.
- A 72.2% increase of female world leaders compared to 2010 when only 18 women served as head of state or/and government.
- Only 3 out of 31 current female leaders have a PhD degree.
- 7 world countries have had more than 3 female leaders in their history.
- In spite that the number of women leaders is higher now compared to earlier years and women made it to power, the list is still relatively short and data collected by Erudera shows that 128 countries out of 231 have never had a woman leader.
- Since 2015, 23 countries have elected their first-ever female head of state including here the following 9 European countries: Serbia, Slovakia, Estonia, Greece, Moldova, Lithuania, Georgia, Sweden, and Hungary.
- Two of the states that currently have both a female Prime Minister and President are Moldova and Barbados.
- 7 African countries currently have a female head of state.

Education – it opens Windows of Opportunity.
Emeritus Professor at Law, it has been my unequivocacal opinion for decades, that in the taking of a Law Degree – it does not TRAIN nor Educate you to be a Politician.
It is my growing opinion in the 21st century, what changes Globally we ALL have witnessed post February 2020 – we see “Round Pegs in Square Holes” – through individuals in Politics and those with plans to enter the “Lions Den” – that is the atmospher or environment of Political life, from backgrounds – that degrees or “other” bits of paper that claim adapting to a life in Politics – supposively prepares you for a career of life in Politics.
Education – it does open windows of opportunity BUT – it is by far not ALL the NEEDS – to make a life a successful life, that leaves a Legacy – in Politics.
Earthen people – like clay from the eath into the hands of a potter – what can be formed sculptured, shaped & moulded – into a IMAGE – that humans can – see a reward from creativity and natural granted gifts & talents – from a Potter.
The Masters down through History – spread broadly across the Arts – the list is endless – different time yes, but the great numbers of them, from positions in life – earthen – feet firmly entrenched on Mother Earth – and look in the 21st century – we are provided with to Admire.
What Legacies – and the majority un-educated not born with Silver Spoons in there Mouths ???
Country of to-day 25 million people.
It is just 250 years old.
It is a Democracy.
In 1901 – it elected its first Prime Minister.
This country since 1901 – has had 30 Prime Ministers.
One of the 30 – who was much loved and served as a Labour Prime Minister of this country – 1945-1949 – passed on at just 65 years of age – was a Earthen – human being and Politician.
His life, saw him rise from in his youth – that saw him a fireman on the foot plate of steam locomotives, progressing to the position – as Prime Minister of a Country.
This “earten” man of the people – just not Labour supporters, did not have a Law Degree nor fancy bits of titled paper – that assisted or cleared the way for him to reach the position of a Prime Minister of a country.
Education – yes it opens windows of opportunity – but it does educate you to THINK.
From whatever “Station in Life” we come – the thinking process – the deepness of it and the adaptation incorporation – putting it into action in our lives – we ALL – can – if we want PURSUE – this thought process – and make our Lives of greater enjoyment & pleasure.
“He is to Book Read” – sure you know the saying – and its a Valid term placing it into the Political “Lions Den” – the number who haven’t lived a life – an earten life, but remain with there heads in the book and FAIL to go to the Coal Face – and see taste & smell the Real World.
What attracts the aspirants to Politics – in the continuing Challenging & Changing World of the 21st century ???
What LEGACY – do they have plans and visions – to LEAVE, come the time – they Depart ???
PLEASE – those in Politics to-day – those aspiring to go into Politics – get out and into – live & understand the vast variations of life – standards of life – and ALL that comes with living in the 21st century.
“Book Read ” – interesting, and much of life, passes you by, by not getting your head out of the books and become EARTEN.
In the UK quite a few members of Parliament were lawyers or barristers (and continue to undertake such work in some cases). All are useless and nearly all corrupt (the Conservatives Party ones, that party being a bit like Fidesz), so she is treading a well worn path. I wonder if her legal skills are better than her professed ability to speak English – which she does, but very badly and with such a strong accent as to render whatever she says to be virtually unintelligible.
