Foreign minister discusses bilateral cooperation with Cuba’s deputy minister
Budapest, October 16 (MTI) – Repayment options of public debt owed by Cuba to Hungary and cooperation between the two countries were in the focus of talks between Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and Cuba’s deputy minister of foreign trade Antonio Luis Carricarte Corona on Friday.
The ministry said that a new situation has developed in the wake of the US and Cuba restoring relations, and this paved the way for cooperation between Cuba and European countries.
Both Hungary and Cuba are members in the International Investment Bank which forms a good basis for economic cooperation between the two countries and offers an opportunity to finance join investment, the statement said.
The parties at the talks agreed that starting from this year, Hungary’s foreign ministry will support the participation of Hungarian companies at the international expo in Havana.
