Hungarian Four Seasons Hotel on the top of the Travel and Leisure list
The prestigious Travel and Leisure magazine has chosen two hotels in Budapest into the best 15 city hotels in Europe this year. In addition, the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace became the very first.
The Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace on the top of the podium was highlighted by its beautiful Art Nouveau building and the panoramic view of the Buda hills, as well as the proximity of the Danube during the evaluation. „Great food, great service” also appeared among the positive features, which means a lot in the case of the whole evaluation. One of the respondents described it as
“the best service I have ever experienced in a hotel. From the front desk to the concierge, to housekeeping, to the doormen.”
Four Seasons Hotel is the best in 2017
As the name of the mansion commemorates, it served originally as the building of the London-based company Gresham Life Assurance. The Red Army used it as barracks during World War II. After spending 60 years in disrepair, it opened its doors in 2004 as a Four Seasons hotel.
The Gresham competed with famous hotels like Zurich’s Dolder Grand, Le Bristol and La Réserve – Hôtel & Spa in Paris, the Mandarin Oriental in Milan and 5 hotels in London, including 2nd place Hotel 41 and 3rd place Milestone Hotel.
The magazine has been compiling the list for many years by its own method. Voters have to evaluate hotels according to different criteria. Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace reached 96.26 and Aria Hotel Budapest 95.73 points during the voting.
