The art of the festive table: Spago Budapest celebrates connection through cuisine

At the heart of every meal lies more than nourishment — it is a moment of connection. This festive season, the newly two-Michelin-starred Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Budapest, and its Michelin-recommended restaurant, Spago Budapest, invite guests to slow down, savour the moment, and celebrate togetherness with intimate Sunday brunches and the now-traditional authentic turkey feasts. Each dish tells a story of shared time and cherished memories.
Savouring slow Sunday rituals
The end of the year is a time of reflection, a pause from the daily rush, when attention turns from performance to presence, from hurry to intimacy. Psychologists describe gathering around the table as one of the strongest rituals connecting us — bridging past and present, childhood memories and present joys.
At Matild Palace, Sunday brunch is no ordinary meal. It is a slow, multi-course ritual where guests taste not only exquisite flavours but also the atmosphere of the season. During Advent, Spago Budapest elevates this experience with themed brunches held not only on Sundays but also on select weekdays. The festive season kicks off with the Thanksgiving Brunch on 30th November, celebrating gratitude and togetherness.

The Santa Claus Brunch on 7th December brings childhood delight, while Advent Brunches on 14th and 21st December create the perfect setting to immerse in the magic of the season. On 25th December, the traditional Christmas Brunch transforms holiday dining into a shared experience, followed by the Farewell Brunch on 28th December, and the New Year’s Brunch on 1st January 2026, which welcomes the year ahead with style.
The open kitchen, seasonal ingredients, and decadent dessert tables are designed to complement the festive slowdown, allowing guests to fully embrace time spent together.
