Budapest, January 31 (MTI) – As long as Fidesz is in government, reductions — even in the double digits — in utilities prices are here to stay, a Fidesz MP said on Sunday.

The utilities price cuts launched three years ago through regulation must be continued with market tools, Szilard Nemeth, who was Fidesz’s man in charge of the reductions, said at a press conference on another topic. He declined to give a firm figure for the scale of the reductions, but said they could be in the double digits.

An upgrade of the Paks nuclear power plant will have a definitive impact on electricity prices, he said.
