Hagymatikum as Europe’s best family bath
According to Makó Hiradó, British magazine LuxuryTravelGuide has elected Hagymatikum from Makó, Hungary as the best family-friendly bath in Europe in 2018.
The bath ranked second in 2014 in the contest for the International Real Estate Federation’s (FIABCI) award, the Prix d’Excellence. It has received another international award in 2017. The jury has chosen Hagymatikum as the best family-friendly bath of Europe in European Spa, Fitness and Wellness category.
The aim of LuxuryTravelGuide is to show the best enterprises in tourism and holiday destinations to demanding tourists from all around the world.
These include hotels, restaurants, ski parks and baths and spas. The magazine picks the bests from the whole world every year, considering professional aspects. Their annual travel guides always include the awarded entries.
They evaluate innovation, the unique design, the quality and variety of services, marketing and brand, the applied technologies, situation and accessibility, employee satisfaction and the response of guests.
The manager of Hagymatikum, Gábor Gergely thanked his colleagues in the first place for their constant and customer friendly work that was necessary for getting the award. He also added that “every person from Makó can be proud now.”
Hagymatikum is not the only tourist attraction that receives outstandingly positive feedback.
Recent reports claim that the accommodations in Makó are evaluated the most favourably in Hungary. These results suggest that the investments in tourism in Makó are profitable and the town has experience in treating visitors well. Gergely also added that the future of Makó is more important than any award or recommendation, as the more prosperous the town is, the more likely is that the upcoming generations will stay in Makó.
Dr Péter Buzás was the mind behind Hagymatikum: the multiple award-winning bath complex was constructed based on his blueprints. The former mayor of Makó initiated several successful projects, like the library currently under construction. Hagymatikum is about be improved and extended according to the original designs soon.
