House speaker meets Austrian-Hungarian Friendship Group head
Budapest, May 31 (MTI) – Parliamentary Speaker László Kövér on Tuesday discussed bilateral ties with Maria Rauch-Kallat, the head of the Austrian-Hungarian Friendship Group, in Parliament.
Kövér praised efforts Austria’s “pro-Hungary personalities” and Hungary’s honorary consuls there have made over the past 15 years to nurture bilateral ties, the National Assembly’s press office said.
The two countries must take advantage of every opportunity to maintain dialogue in order to boost both parliamentary and political relations, he said.
Rauch-Kallat, who served as minister for environmental, youth and family affairs at the beginning of the 90s, said the Austrian-Hungarian Friendship Group will continue to do its best to cultivate bilateral ties and strengthen Hungary’s reputation in Austria and worldwide.
