How much the Hungarians spend for holiday

According to a survey, the Hungarians are mostly looking for the same destinations as last year, but on average, they are willing to spend more on accommodation. Siofok and Rome are on the top again, there are no major changes with regard to the popular destinations, origo.hu said.

Domestically, Siofok is the most interesting again, like last year. However, Budapest was pushed back from the second place, because the accommodations in Balatonfured are the second-top. Most of the major spa resorts are among the top 10 this year, too.

As for holidays abroad, the number one favorite is Italy, and within that, Rome again. The cities of the Croatian beach, Dubrovnik, Rovinj and Porec are among the top 10 like last summer, just like the big European cities such as London, Paris or Barcelona, origo.hu said.

According to the data of trivago.hu, the Hungarians spent an average of HUF 26 500 (2 persons/night) for accommodation in the summer of 2014. The amount willing to be spent for the longer, at least one-week long  holidays was HUF 217 500 (this was the money for which the people checked the accomodations). This year, Hungarians are willing to spend HUF 27 300 for accommodation and HUF 262 600 for a longer relaxation.

The time spent on holiday has also increased. In 2014, people were looking accomodation for an average of 3-4 days, while this year, this time is 5-6 days.
