Hungarian Ethnographic Museum’s Director, Lajos Kemecsi, pays a visit to Egypt
On the 17th of November 2016, the Hungarian Cultural Counselor to Egypt, Renáta Kovács, and the Director of the Hungarian Ethnographic Museum, Lajos Kemecsi, paid a visit to the Egyptian Agricultural Museum.
Kovács and Kemecsi were welcomed by the Director of the Agricultural Extension Sector at the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture, Saeid Khalifa; the Director of the Foreign Affairs at the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture, Dina El-Kheshen; and the Director of the Egyptian Agricultural Museum, Fekry Kamal.
The reason behind this visit was to make cooperation possible between both countries in the fields of museum- and agriculture development.
Also, the Egyptian side is aiming to establish a garden at the Egyptian Agricultural Museum for infrequent plants, in cooperation with the Hungarian experts.
It is worth mentioning that cooperation between both countries, in this aspect, has historical roots, bearing in mind that the first director of the Egyptian Agricultural Museum was Hungarian.
