Hungarian government regards disabled organizations as strategic partners

The government has held consultations with organisations representing disabled people about the law for architects, the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office said on Friday.

Organisations representing disabled people are strategic partners of the government and the opinions of the affected parties are always asked in matters concerning disabled people, the office said in a statement. The government made considerable legislative changes in the past decade to improve the living standards of people living with disabilities, to help their independence and promote their social integration, it said.

The principle of inclusion is being applied in all areas, including the development of a living environment for disabled people, the office said. Prime Ministerial commissioner Zsolt Nyitrai and state secretary in charge of architecture Regő Lánszki therefore initiated the roundtable consultations with representatives of organisations for the disabled, it added.
