Hungarian government supports electric car purchases, says minister
Budapest, September 21 (MTI) – The government supports the purchase of electric cars and has allocated 2 billion forints (EUR 6.5m) this year to promote this goal, the economy minister said on Wednesday.
The government will offer financial aid for the purchase of electric cars and vans, Mihály Varga told the opening event of the Emobility Forum 2016 conference.
The support will be offered to cover 21 percent of the gross purchase price, or up to 1.5 million forints, and will apply to the purchase or lease of new vehicles priced up to 15 million forints (EUR 48,000).
Applications for support can be submitted from Oct. 27 and the buyers can be individuals, companies, the self-employed, civil organisations, local councils, public bodies and budgetary organisations.
