Hungarian police officer saves life on his day off

The Hungarian police have posted a story on their Facebook page about one of their officers saving the life of an elderly woman who had been lying helplessly on the ground with a serious compound fracture and heavy bleeding.

Index reported about the story that the officer who found the helpless elderly woman was Mihály Pálfi from the Kiskunhalas Police Headquarters. The Hungarian police also posted it on their Facebook page. He was enjoying his day off when his phone rang.

He answered the phone, and a man told him in a worried voice that his wife had gone somewhere but had not come back for hours.

“I was helping my wife, a professional hunter, at the border of the village when the phone rang. It was an elderly man, Péter, whom I have know pretty closely. Péter told me that his wife had been missing for hours,” Mihály said to 24.

The police officer told the worried husband that it will take them a while to get back to the village, but he is going to go and help him.

He told the elderly man that he should also start looking for her around the village.

“As we were heading back to the village in the car with my wife, approximately 3 kilometres from the village, we heard the screams of an elderly woman through the pulled-down car windows.
