BREAKING: Hungarian schools received another wave of bomb threats – UPDATE

Hundreds of Hungarian schools received bomb threats last week. As later discovered by a Hungarian boy who hacked into the email connected to the threats, they might have a Russian connection. This morning, several Hungarian schools were targeted with bomb threats again. The wave of threats, part of a broader pattern across Europe since 2024, has raised concerns about national security and public safety. Authorities are working to identify the perpetrators while school officials remain on high alert.
Hungarian schools targeted again
As Telex reports, several Hungarian schools were targeted with bomb threats on Friday morning, prompting swift evacuations and police investigations. According to reports, State Secretary for Education Zoltán Maruzsa urged school heads to immediately alert authorities upon receiving such threats. In Eger, an elementary school was evacuated, with students relocated to a safe area while police searched the premises. Similar threats disrupted a school in Kesznyéten and a children’s home in Girincs, where authorities launched an investigation to identify the perpetrator. In Zugló, a secondary school faced another scare, following recent threats in the district. Police followed protocol to ensure student safety before resuming classes.
National security in danger
Several Hungarian schools have been impacted by the ongoing wave of bomb threats affecting Europe since the spring of 2024. A primary school in Maglód confirmed the threats on its Facebook page, stating that while they had not yet received one, they remained vigilant and prepared to take action if necessary. Authorities, including the police and the Ministry of Interior, are investigating the situation. These threats, primarily targeting NATO member states, appear to be aimed at testing national security responses while inciting panic and disruption in the affected countries.
UPDATE: Police share information
The Hungarian police shared some details about the bomb threats targeting Hungarian schools. According to their statement, 44 schools (13 in Budapest and 31 in the countryside) received threatening emails on the night of 30 January 2025. The police immediately took the necessary measures, and no explosives or explosive devices have been found in the buildings searched so far. The police are continuing their investigation in connection with the threat.

Orban needs to pick up the phone and tell his friend Putin he needs to stop doing this.
Exactly, Larry. But, I’m not holding my breath for the Hungarian government to announce that they know who is behind these threats; especially if the kid who tracked the messages to Russia was right.
This is all part of Russian hybrid warfare against Europe which also includes sabotage, assassination, disinformation through social media, manufacture of refugee crises through Belarus and at the Finnish border. The millions of Ukrainian refugees Russia has created through its’ war is a Russian way to create costs for Europe. If Russia was to push further into Ukraine we could have millions more Ukrainian refugees coming west. Everyone has a interest to make sure that this does not happen and therefore needs to provide for Ukraine’s defence.
