Sensation! Hungarian trainer Lőw becomes assistant coach at Paris Saint-Germain
Following weeks of scandals about his transfer from RB Leipzig to Paris Saint-German, it has finally become certain: Zsolt Lőw is to become assistant to leader coach Thomas Tuchel, confirms NemzetiSport.hu.
Zsolt Lőw, former Bundesliga award receiver, Hungarian trainer has confirmed his transfer to Paris Saint-German as an assistant coach after 3 years of work in Leipzig. Lőw’s career has started as a football player in the Hungarian team in 2002. After long years as a successful and promising player, he took a great leap forward in his career when he became assistant coach to Ralf Rangnick at Liefering (FC Red Bull Salzburg) in 2014. Subsequently, following Rangnick to RB Leipzig, he performed excellently in the Bundesliga. Nevertheless, Zsolt is not the only Hungarian who is wanted on international footballer grounds: we have written about our most valuable players here.
Zsolt Lőw, approaching to the age of 40 told Nemzeti Sport in June that he awaits being an assistant coach at PSG more than anything and considers this as an opportunity that came at the best possible timing in his life. Although his contract at RB Leipzig is until 2019 summer, his club confirmed his transfer on Wednesday, affirming that the two clubs could reach an agreement regarding this.
In June, Zsolt said he will always think back to his years spent with Ralf Rangnick at Leipzig warm-heartedly and is thankful for Rangnick’s contribution to his career both as a player and a coach.
The coach who has just received his UEFA pro license diploma now has the chance to work with world-famous players such as Neymar, Kylian Mbappé, or Gianluigi Buffon. As Index.hu wrote earlier, during their former work together, Tuchel was so satisfied with Lőw’s performance that he insisted on having him as a team member at all hazards. According to rumours, Lőw’s offered salary as assistant coach would be the highest ever with 1,5 million EUR buying him out of his former agreement with Leipzig.
However, even with this high payment as the assistant coach, several Hungarian football players are worth more, for example Péter Gulácsi goalkeeper.
