Hungary Under 17s qualify for Euro Elite round

Hungary Under 17s completed their European Championship Main round mini-tournament today with their main objective achieved; qualification to the Elite round early next year.

Two wins in Hungary’s first two games against Liechtenstein (3-0) and Denmark (3-1) secured that qualification before yesterday’s match against the Netherlands to decide who would take top spot in the group, the world-class Dutch squad showing their prowess with a hugely impressive 4-0 win in Dabas.

The Elite round stage of the UEFA Under-17 European Championship normally takes place in early springtime ahead of the finals tournament in early summer.
