Hungary Covid-19 deaths surpass 45,000

Altogether 134 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the weekend, while 5,839 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

So far 6,400,547 people have received a first jab, while 6,183,247 have been double-jabbed. Fully 3,834,724 Hungarians have received a booster third shot and 242,651 a fourth shot.

The number of active infections has gone down to 103,565, while

hospitals are treating 2,061 Covid-19 patients, 74 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 1,829,928 have been registered with the virus, while

45,095 deaths have been recorded.

Fully 1,681,268 people have made a recovery.
