Diosgyor-Ferencvaros match: honour for Rakacki and Adams
Young footballers Hungarian Rakaczki Bence (Diosgyor) and Akeem Adams (Ferencvaros) of Trinidad and Tobago were honoured on Saturday ahead of the Hungarian Premier Division match, won 4-1 by Adam’s Fenag over Diosgyor.
The young Diosgyor goalkeeper is suffering from leukaemia, while Adams suffered a heart attack on September 25, had his left leg amputated, and also underwent four life-saving surgeries.
At the start of the Saturday’s match, giant portraits of both players were unveiled on the field and two signed jerseys were auctioned off. The money raised will given to the families of both Rakaczki and Adams. Diósgyõr players had wanted to give some form of help to Rakaczki, and so the clubs decided since both cases were similar, they would hold a joint function.
