Hungary inflation rate dips to 1.9 pc yr/yr in June
Consumer prices in Hungary grew by an annual 1.9 percent in June, down from 2.1 percent in May, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Tuesday.
The June rate was slightly below the market consensus of 2 percent.
Food prices grew by 3.1 percent and prices of spirits and tobacco climbed by 4.6 percent in June. The price of goods in the category that includes vehicle fuel rose 0.9 percent and services were up 1.4 percent.
In a month-on-month comparison, prices were flat in June.
The CPI harmonised for better comparison with other European Union member states was an annual 2 percent in June.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile fuel and food prices, was 2.4 percent.
