Hungary opens national pavilion at Venice Biennale
Venice, May 27 (MTI) – Hungary has formally opened its national pavilion at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition that will run in Venice until November 27 this year.
The project featured in the pavilion “is a celebration of community architecture,” Zoltán Balog, Hungary’s human resources minister, told the opening ceremony.
Carrying the slogan “aectivators – locally active architecture,” it presents the “rebirth” of an abandoned and dilapidated office building carrying a new function as a result of collective efforts of various groups of society.
It has been implemented in the city of Eger, in northern Hungary, in the garden of the museum of fin-de-siecle author Géza Gárdonyi.
The opening was attended by Piotr Glinski, Poland’s deputy prime minister and cultural minister.
