Hungary, Poland speakers meet Friends of Hungary
Budapest, May 6 (MTI) – House Speaker László Kövér and his Polish counterpart Marek Kuchcinski met representatives of the Friends of Hungary Foundation in Budapest’s Parliament on Friday.
In his address, Kövér noted the significance of national cultures rooted in Christianity and the democratic structure of nation states as the basis for Europe’s strength and competitiveness.
The Foundation will hold its third world conference in Budapest this weekend.
Topics to be covered at the conference include views of Hungary in the foreign press, the state of the Hungarian economy and the foundation activities.
The foundation was launched a few years ago in the United States by scientists and businessmen with the aim of strengthening the Hungarian diaspora. The foundation currently has ties to 60 Hungarian organisations abroad and the conference usually has about 150-200 registered visitors.
