Hungary’s first pizza vending machines installed in Győr
In Győr, Széchenyi István University offers a new service. Hungary’s first pizza vending machines have been installed.
Pizza vending machines at the university
In February 2022, the Bridge Student and Teacher Club at Széchenyi István University in Győr was inaugurated, renovated with EU funding. Located on the banks of the Mosoni-Danube near the Győr campus, the building quickly became popular. Concerts, programmes and the summer Bridge Garden attract many visitors. Several renowned Hungarian artists perform at the Club. This is one of the reasons why
Hungary’s first pizza machine was set up there.
Since then, another vending machine has been handed over in the University’s External College in Győr. “The machines operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, meaning that, for example, anyone who is hungry at a party can quickly buy a hot meal even at night,” the expert said.

The French-made vending machine is simple to operate. The customer selects what they want on a touch screen. The vending machine then takes the right pre-cooked pizza from the refrigerated section and transfers it to the oven section. When the pizza is removed from the box, the vending machine bakes the pizza.
At 250 degrees, the pizza is ready in 3 minutes.
The machine then places the pizza back in the box and dispenses it to the customer.
4 types of pizza
The vending machine offers a selection of 4 types of pizza, kisalfold.hu reports.
You can buy Margherita, prosciutto, diablo and Hungarian pizza.
The margherita costs HUF 1990 (€ 5), while the others can be bought for HUF 2190 (€ 5,5). You can only pay by credit card, writes uni.sze.hu.
“The Széchenyi István University is doing a lot to offer its students a variety of services of European quality. The installation of the pizza machines is another example of this, which is beneficial not only for the university’s citizens but also for the visitors and guests coming to the university,” said Márton Maczkó, President of the University Student Self-Government.
