Prague, February 18 (MTI) – Hungary rejects Greece’s standpoint that countries that have not provided any help to solve the migration crisis on Greece’s shores should not criticise Athens, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said in Prague on Thursday.
Yannis Mouzalas, Greek minister for migration, told the press today that Athens cannot accept criticism from European countries that do not help in handling the migration crisis.
Szijjártó told a press conference during a meeting of Visegrad Four foreign ministers that Greece itself had caused the current difficulties. “If they had accepted the proposals which have been on the table for months, then there would already be a joint European force protecting Greece’s southern borders and the EU would not be a vulnerable as it is now,” he said. “Instead of being hypocritical the Greeks should get on and do something,” the minister added.
