Hungary’s trade surplus EUR 1.06 bn in June
Hungary had a 1.06 billion euro trade surplus in June, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in the first reading of data on Tuesday.
The surplus was down 97 million euros from the same month a year earlier.
Exports rose by an annual 4.5 percent to 8.820 billion euros. Imports were up 6.5 percent at 7.760 billion euros.
About 79 percent of exports and 78 percent of imports were traded with other European Union member states.
The trade surplus amounted to 5.377 billion euros for January-June, down 41 million from the same period a year earlier. Exports were up 9.9 percent at 50.986 billion euros and imports rose by 11.3 percent to 45.609 billion euros.
As we wrote yesterday, Hungary’s cash flow-based budget, excluding local councils, ran a 2.65 billion euros deficit at the end of July.
