The ice rink, located in the heart of Budapest’s historic City Park, has been a cherished destination for winter enthusiasts for generations. Furthermore, as it reopens on 17 November, it marks a special milestone in the city’s history.

Opening weekend

The reopening of the City Park Ice Rink is a highlight of Budapest’s 150th birthday celebrations. Moreover, the opening weekend promises a flurry of activities and excitement for visitors of all ages. Here are the opening hours for the weekend:

Friday (17 November): 9.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m.- 9.00 p.m.

Saturday (18 November): 10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m.

Sunday (19 November): 10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.

It’s important to note that the ticket office will close 45 minutes before the rink’s closing time, so make sure to arrive early to secure your spot on the ice.

The festivities are expected to continue throughout the weekend, with a variety of programmes and events planned to celebrate the occasion.   1. High powered hockey stadium lighting destroys charm and romance- bring back the lanterns that were strung across the ice – do you even know the difference. The savings on the electric bill would pay for the season.-
