Thrilling Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix ends: here’s the winner!

Lando Norris claimed victory at the 40th Hungarian Grand Prix with a clever one-stop strategy, securing McLaren’s 200th Formula One win in front of a sold-out crowd at the revamped Hungaroring.

The British driver managed to hold off a late charge from teammate Oscar Piastri, who finished second after nearly colliding with Norris in the final laps. George Russell (Mercedes) completed the podium in third, while pole-sitter Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) dropped to fourth after struggling with pace in the closing stages, Formula.hu reports.

Leclerc started from pole and initially led the race comfortably, fending off McLaren’s Piastri. Meanwhile, Norris lost ground at the start but made a strategic gamble by extending his first stint and committing to just one pit stop. While his rivals pitted twice, Norris’s consistent pace and tire management allowed him to regain the lead and stay in front until the finish.

Ferrari’s pace faded dramatically in the final third of the race, with Leclerc visibly frustrated over team radio. Piastri overtook him with ease, and soon after, Russell also passed the slowing Ferrari driver to snatch third place.
