Lawmakers elect seven members of National Election Committee with boycott
Hungary’s Parliament elected seven members to the National Election Committee on Monday.
The members nominated by President Janos Ader were elected in a single vote, with 251 votes for, 43 against and four abstentions.
The parliamentary party groups can also delegate non-permanent members to the committee. Their mandate, however, will expire once the elections have been called. During the election campaign, the parties fielding a national list will have the right to delegate members to the committee.
Lawmakers of the opposition Socialists and the electoral alliance E14-PM said before the vote that they would boycott it.
