Lego bust stand-ins at Margaret Island

art strange

Those who have recently went for a jog or a walk on Margaret Island may have encountered some unusual statues: there are two busts made of Lego, reports travelo.hu. Balázs Dóczy’s LEGO sculptures, depicting Miklós Izsó and Fülöp Ö. Beck, two of the greatest figures in Hungarian sculpting, were completed in two weeks and were created as a substitute for the original artworks that had been stolen.

The LEGO sculptures, each consisting of 8000 LEGO pieces, were glued with a special material. This creative answer for the stolen sculptures will only be temporary according to plan, as the local authority is planning to take action and regain the original, metal artworks.

If you want to see the LEGO busts, travel.hu suggests to hurry up, as Balázs Dóczy’s works will soon leave Margaret Island – they will either be replaced with the original, lost and found items, or they will also be stolen.
