Migration crisis could mean end of “political correctness”, says the deputy parliamentary speaker
Budapest, September 24 (MTI) – The migration crisis could put an end to “political correctness” with many western European citizens realising that promises made by their political leaders can hardly be kept, Gergely Gulyas, the deputy parliamentary speaker, said in an interview on Thursday.
Europe must realise its own interests or else the entire continent will eternally weaken, Gulyas told daily Magyar Idok.
Political leaders elected in the EU member states will have to face the reality that the opinion of their voters is squarely different from theirs, he said.
Voters have realised through their own experience that the situation is untenable and the “hypocritical and mendacious” migration policies of their elected leaders cannot be accepted any more, Gulyas said.
Asked about ties with Romania, Gulyas said that building a fence along a section of the common border would be a “technical necessity” rather than a “symbolic act”.
“The EU’s Schengen borders must be protected and the EU politicians criticising Hungary for erecting a fence have not come up with another option either,” he said.
Gulyas said that Hungary’s recent conflicts with Romania and Croatia had developed because these neighbouring countries were either “dishonest” or “miscalculated their strength”.
He said that the crisis in Syria cannot be resolved, or would be very hard to be resolved without involving Russia.
“Ending the war in Syria as soon as possible is in Europe’s elementary interest,” Gulyas said.

Good – political correctness has caused lasting damage to Europe.
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered, by an illogical, delusional minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media which holds forth the proposition that is entirely possible to pick up a piece of sh#t by the clean end.
