International military exercise starts in East Hungary

Moonstar 2025, an international military exercise for the reserve corps, has got under way at the military base of Hajdúhadház, in eastern Hungary, the defence ministry said Tuesday.
Some 150 reserve soldiers from Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland are participating in the exercise between Nov 10 and 23, while Slovenia and Croatia have delegated observers, the ministry said in its statement.
The exercise has been designed to coordinate the units from different countries, assess their skills and exchange information on their military procedures, the statement said. Participants will practice marksmanship using various types of weapon, as well as rescuing and evacuating wounded soldiers, the statement added.
The statement also noted the importance of the reserve corps, stating that reserve officers “actively contribute to the security of the country apart from their civilian careers.”
