The vast majority of bank branches will operate as usual on Monday, although face-to-face client services could be suspended in lower-traffic locations to “optimise branch services”, the Hungarian Banking Association said in a statement.
Banking sector players are watching closely coronavirus information and ensuring uninterrupted financial services in line with that information, the association said.
Restrictions on staff numbers and the number of clients allowed in bank waiting areas could result in longer waits at bigger branches, the association added.
The association said the operation of the banking sector is stable and that state of stable operation can be securely maintained.
It urged bank clients to use electronic and mobile banking services, and to pay with contactless bank cards.
