Nearly 600 green licence plates registered in six months
Budapest, May 13 (MTI) – Fully 591 electric or hybrid cars were registered between September 2015 and April 2016, receiving green licence plates for environmentally friendly cars, the daily Magyar Idők said on Friday.
Green plates entitle owners to free parking and charging in some cities as well as a vehicle tax waiver.
Currently there are over 100 charging points operating. The economy ministry plans to install 150 altogether this year, the paper said.
In February the government issued a decree requiring charging points to be installed in car parks.
