Hungary condemns Russia’s military aggression, fully supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while urging negotiations towards sustainable peace and long-term security guarantees, according to the guidelines set for the Hungarian delegation participating in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, published in Tuesday’s issue of the official gazette Magyar Közlöny.
According to the supplement to the resolution signed by Prime Minister Péter Magyar, the Hungarian delegation participating in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly is tasked with acting in accordance with the government’s objectives and upholding Hungarian national interests.
Russia’s behaviour poses a threat to Hungary, Europe and the global order, and also places the Hungarian minority living in Transcarpathia in serious danger, the document said, adding that the government supports all efforts aimed at initiating negotiations toward sustainable peace and long-term security guarantees.
War in Gaza, Iran, USA
On matters relating to the war in Gaza, the delegation is to present Hungary’s position that lasting peace can be achieved on the basis of resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council, by ensuring the protection of civilians, respecting Israel’s right to self-defence, disarming Hamas and improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza. It added that direct negotiations between the parties formed the basis for Israeli–Palestinian reconciliation.
The long-term settlement of the Israel–Hezbollah conflict likewise required the protection of civilians, recognition of Israel’s right to security, the restoration of Lebanon’s sovereignty and the disarmament of Hezbollah, it said.
The resolution stressed that the Government highly valued the efforts of the United States and regional mediators to bring conflicts in the Middle East to an end.
Under the resolution, the delegation is also required to represent Hungary’s position on the conflict involving Iran: rather than resorting to military escalation, the parties should resolve their disputes at the negotiating table while keeping diplomatic channels open. It stressed that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
It noted that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the disruption of maritime trade posed a global risk to energy security. Hungary therefore supported every effort aimed at restoring stability in the region.
EU, migration, water issues
The guidelines also state that Hungary – working closely with the International Energy Agency and the European Union – will constructively support all measures capable of safeguarding Europe’s and the world’s energy supplies, while easing the supply-security challenges caused by the conflict in the Middle East.
The delegation must pay particular attention to advancing the Hungarian Government’s position on migration within the framework of the United Nations. It must also make clear that border protection and the rules governing residence on their territory fall within the national competence of member states, while drawing attention to the immediate security risks posed by migration.

In another section, the delegation was instructed to continue paying close attention to international processes aimed at implementing goals and targets relating to water and sanitation, to help promote the institutional reforms required for their implementation and, accordingly, to reaffirm Hungary’s commitment to establishing a permanent UN water process. It must also monitor preparations for, and the proceedings of, the UN Water Conference to be held in December, and ensure that Hungary’s position is properly represented.

The guidelines further call on the delegation to support the work of the International Court of Justice and other generally recognised international dispute-resolution bodies, and to back the general recognition of the ICJ’s jurisdiction. It is also expected to oppose the politicisation of international legal and judicial forums in order to preserve their impartiality.
The delegation is tasked with reaffirming Hungary’s support for the UN Secretary-General’s proposals to reform the organisation’s governance. Hungary also intends to continue contributing to the renewal of the General Assembly’s role and to reforms of the UN’s development and environmental systems, the resolution said.

Mrs. Orbán is a New England-educated Yankee Hungarian. Therefore, she is indoctrinated into the system, controlled by you-know-who, which is currently using the Ukrainian people (already 20 million displaced/2 million dead) to try to regime-change Putin, and, therefore, divide up and conquer Russia.

Now that the Tisza government has declared Russia a threat to Hungarians and all of Europe can they please put back the 1956 memorial and Nagy Imre memorial on Kossuth ter which were removed by Russian asset Viktor Orban. Members of Fidesz can be invited to ceremonies celebrating the return of the memorials that they had removed.
For those who missed it the US CIA chief just returned from a trip to Moscow where he met with Russian intelligence officials. As reported by the Wall Street Journal the purpose of his trip was to warn Russia not to attack NATO. There have been warnings by European intelligence services that Putin is so desperate in his lost cause in Ukraine that he may try a limited military strike on a NATO country to test Article 5 cohesion and scare Europe into hiding in a corner. There’s your Russian threat that we all need to take seriously.
