New list: six Hungarian institutes among world’s 800 best universities

Semmelweis University is the leading Hungarian university on the Times Higher Education list. Among the six Hungarian universities, 5 perform outstandingly in the number of foreign students and lecturers and there are a lot of publications born in international cooperation. The only exception is the University of Technology which is efficient in terms of industry revenue, hvg.hu wrote.

Semmelweis University is in the 501-600th place range on the list of the London-based Times Higher Education – the institute said.

There are six higher education institutions on the list, among which the best is the Semmelweis University.

In the 601-800th range, Budapest University of Technology, University of Debrecen, Eotvos Lorand University, University of Pecs and University of Szeged are included.

The world ranking measures the institutions on the basis of five main areas’ indicators: educational environment, research, citations, industry revenue and international orientation. Semmelweis University performed the best in the latter, due to the proportion of foreign students and lecturers and the outstanding number of publications born in international cooperation, hvg.hu wrote.
