New streaming service provider arrives in Hungary
Comcast and Paramount’s new joint streaming platform SkyShowtime will be available in Hungary from 14 February. The service will be available for HUF 1,999 (EUR 5.12) per month, according to a SkyShowtime statement.
In addition to Hungary, the service will debut in Albania, the Czech Republic, Northern Macedonia, Kosovo, Poland, Romania and Slovakia in mid-February. This brings the total number of countries where SkyShowtime will be available to 20.
“SkyShowtime offers significant value by providing a diverse, immersive entertainment experience at very affordable prices, with the latest Hollywood films from the world’s biggest studios and exclusive new series,”

Sky Group announced back in 2021 that its streaming service would arrive in Europe in 2022. Last September, it finally launched in the Nordic countries. However, the company has promised that the service would be available in the Central and Eastern European region as well in the first quarter of 2023.
A wide range of content will be available in the new streaming service
In addition to cinema, it will be the first place to watch films from Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures. A relatively wide range of content will be available on SkyShowtime, including movies and TV shows such as Ambulance, Downton Abbey: A New Era, Jerry and Marge Go Large, Jurassic World Dominion, Ray Donovan: The Movie, Redeeming Love, The Bad Guys, The Hanging Sun, The Northman and Top Gun: Maverick.
In addition, a host of series and fairy tales from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, Paramount+, Showtime, Sky Studios and Peacock will be available on the platform. Series will include Halo, Law & Order Season 21, Let The Right One In, Mayor of Kingstown Seasons 1 and 2, Pitch Perfect: Bumper In Berlin, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Souls, Vampire Academy and Yellowstone.
Among the most anticipated major new films and series will be A Town Called Malice, Belfast, Drift – Partners In Crime (S1A), Lioness, Nope, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Rabbit Hole, Smile, The Black Phones The Great Game.
According to telex.hu, the launch comes on the heels of a major announcement that SkyShowtime has acquired the rights to twenty-one HBO Max Europe series, including The Informer, which was dropped from the popular streaming service’s line-up in the UK last summer. The provider has also acquired brand new series from HBO that will debut on the platform in 2023 under the SkyShowtime Originals banner.
SkyShowtime will be available on www.skyshowtime.com and through the SkyShowtime app on Apple iOS, tvOS, Android devices, as well as Android TV, Google TV, LG TV.
