Hungarian national media authority chief resigns

Budapest Hungary media

Mónika Karas, the head of Hungary’s national media authority NMHH, has resigned from her post, public television M1 reported on Friday.

Karas will become a deputy chief of the State Audit Office.

NMHH will be headed by András Koltay, rector of the National Public Service University.

NMHH has confirmed the report.

The NMHH is an autonomous regulatory body reporting to the National Assembly on an annual basis. With a staff headcount of approximately 650 professionals, it operates in four Budapest locations. Additionally, it has five more locations in the country (in Szeged, Pécs, Debrecen, Miskolc and Sopron).
