Hungarian state to become the owner of the Sármellék Airport near Lake Balaton

The state is going to obtain 90 pc of the Hévíz–Balaton Airport Ltd. The package belonged to the local government before.

According to turizmusonline.hu, an independent valuer said that the company is worth 114 149 000 HUF (EUR 329 thousand). The government decision says that, with the help of the change, it will be easier for the airport to use state funds aiming to help the development of tourism which is of strategic importance for the Hungarian government.

The airport near Lake Balaton mostly welcomes charter flights.
