Budapest’s Liszt Academy of Music has announced its international Composers 2022 competition with Oscar-winning American composer John Corigliano being jury chair.
The competition invites pieces to be submitted by composers of all nationalities aged under 40 for violin and piano until August 23, the academy told MTI on Friday.
The Bartók World Competition was launched in 2017 to mark the composer’s 135th birth anniversary.

“Composers under the age of 40 are invited to enter the competition by 23 August 2022. The award winning works will be performed for the first time at the Awards Gala Concert to be held on 26 November in Liszt Academy Solti Hall, Budapest, Hungary,” they wrote on their website.
Additionally, the “total prize of the competition is € 10,000,” they said.
