New cold record set for April 15 in Hungary
A record cold temperature for this day in Hungary was broken in the northern village of Zabar, as the mercury dipped to -8.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service said.
The last time it got nearly this cold on April 15 was in 2001 when -7.9 degrees was recorded also in Zabar.
The service said temperatures are expected to return to around 20-25 degrees in the coming days.
