…or it could be from some other source. You just don’t know until you have real evidence and what is the motive? If you are going to say it was a “secret services operation” then let’s not rule out the Hungarian secret services putting that out to allow Fidesz to discredit the opposition media for putting out a false story and putting all of Hungary at risk which is exactly what happened. Now there is a motive.
I should add that I did not see any international media report this false story. It was confined to Hungary and thus originated in Hungary. If any foreign country’s secret service wanted to smear Hungary internationally with this story it was a complete failure
and why would they do it if you know it is going to be quickly disproven. The only resulting effect is to discredit anyone who reports it. Probably Orban is trying to spin lies to make the Hungarian public feel that they are under attack by the “evil West” who they must resist while creating a bigger alliance with the “real friends” of Hungary which are Russia and China.
