Number of Starbucks in Hungary set to increase
US coffee shop chain Starbucks is opening three more units in Hungary this year, bringing the total number to 27, the company told MTI.
Starbucks is opening two shops in Székesfehérvár, in western Hungary, and one in the Pest side of the capital. It entered the Hungarian market in 2010 and has currently around 400 employees.
Starbucks is operated by Amrest Holding SE, the biggest independent operator of restaurant chains in Central and Eastern Europe.
Amrest operates 850 fast food restaurants, among them Pizza Hut, KFC, Burger King and Applebees restaurants. Amrest’s Hungarian unit had revenue of 19 billion forints (EUR 58.8m) last year, public records show.
