Number of trading houses set to reach 117
Budapest, June 6 (MTI) – The number of Hungarian trading houses will rise from 29 at present to 117 by the end of the current government cycle, a senior foreign ministry official said in Saturday’s issue of Nepszava.
The number of trading houses will at least reach the number of embassies Hungary has, State Secretary Levente Magyar told the paper.
The foreign ministry regularly reviews the activities of the trading houses to determine whether they are operating efficiently and meeting requirements, he said, conceding as well the presence of “childhood ailments” that the system would grow out of. He stressed that the trading houses are staffed with professionals who know local networks well.
The trading houses are agents of the Hungarian National Trading House (MNKH), set up by the Hungarian state to explore new opportunities for Hungarian companies on foreign markets.
