Budapest (MTI) – October 23 is about an irrepressible hope and yearning for freedom, said Bernadett Szel, co-chair of green party LMP at a commemoration in Budapest on Friday.
The ideas formulated tangibly and clearly at the onset of the revolution have never lost their validity, she said.
At the same time, women who shaped the course of history, whether they were well-known figures or faceless persons, have always received unfairly little attention, the opposition politician said. 1956 is our shared heritage and we want to finally be proud of every single hero and heroine of the revolution, she added.
