One of Budapest biggest Christmas markets opens soon

The spectacular and meeting point of Budapest downtown area full of experiences, Advent Feast at the Basilica, opens on the 25th November this year, reports mmonline. The special market awaits the visitors with magical Christmas atmosphere until the 2nd January.

Basilica turns into a colourful light show every evening in every 30 minutes from dusk, the vendors offering special gifts move into the heart of the inner city. The visitors can choose from the fastidious presents of nearly 80 craftsmen in the fabulous wooden houses put up on the square; works of folk- and craft-artists, potters, leather and textile working artisans, goldsmiths, unique clothes and accessory designers, graphic and photo artists can be found here made of quality material, by hand. This year we can have a spectacular visual experience again; the monumental light show fascinates the lovers of Christmas with a new 3D film. There are plenty of programs to choose from, there will be handicraft workshops, flash mobs, dance, cultural programs and concerts in the Basilica, but some surprise programs also await the visitors.

Environmentalist Christmas market

The Advent Feast at the Basilica program series tries to make the Christmas market liveable and European scale, with innovative solution from the beginning. Power saving LED-bulbs are used for the decoration which will have 1 million of bulbs shining from the day of the opening. The 200 square metres four seasoned ice rink, made of a special plastic, is free to use by anyone, and does not use energy to cool the ice. Even more selective trash collecting islands will be placed on the whole location of the market. The gastro exhibitors will use only special biodegradable dinnerware set and cups.
