Donald Trump gave an interview to Corriere della Sera, an Italian daily. The main topics covered his escalating conflict with Pope Leo XIV concerning the war against Iran that the President launched, but Trump also talked about outgoing Prime Minister Orbán.
Orbán: already the past for Trump
The interviewer asked one question about Orbán’s defeat, to which Mr Trump replied: “He was a friend of mine; it wasn’t my election, but he was a friend, a good man who did a fine job on immigration. He didn’t let people come in and ruin his country, as Italy has done.”
Trump against the Pope and the Italian Premier
The American President is in an escalating conflict with the head of the Roman Catholic Church since Pope Leo XIV raised his voice against the new wars launched by neo-imperialist regimes like the USA. The American President harshly reacted to the American Pope’s words and said the Pope knew nothing about the situation and should remain silent.

He also posted an AI-generated image of himself posing as Jesus, a deed facing severe criticism from other country leaders, including even Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The President criticised Meloni for not taking part in the efforts to open the Strait of Hormuz, saying that she did not want to be dragged into the war against Iran. Trump believes that Meloni is different from how he met her before; she lacks the courage and wants the USA to do the dirty work instead of Italy.
JD Vance’s message to Péter Magyar
Despite participating in Orbán’s campaign and saying that Orbán would win the election, Vice President JD Vance said in a recent interview that they knew Orbán could suffer a defeat. He also said that the Trump administration was ready to cooperate with the new Hungarian government.

Previously, Péter Magyar said at an international press conference that he would not call the American President, but he was open to receiving one from the White House.

When your “friends” are actually just … transactional …
Sad when you think about it, really.
President Trump, despite his ballast, Dear Norbert, is really rather fragile on the inside – this meaning that he only values you if he feels that you reflect well upon him, because, in secret, deep down inside, he has a low opinion of himself.
Because he lacks a rellgious discipline, he has never really been encouraged to examine it or himself, so, here we are : an octagenarian with little self-awareness.
Sad to say, but, our president does not lack for company in this regard.
