Orbán congratulates Austria’s president-elect, LMP welcomes election of “green” president
Budapest, December 5 (MTI) – The green opposition LMP party welcomed on Monday the election of Alexander Van der Bellen, the first “green” president in history, in the repeated second round of presidential elections in Austria. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent a congratulation letter to Alexander Van der Bellen.
“I am very much looking forward to working together in the years ahead, to contribute to the development of the central European region and resolve the challenges facing the European Union,” Orbán said.
Orbán assured the president-elect that he is ready to further develop ties and deepen the partnership with Austrian leaders, Bertalan Havasi said.

The party is looking forward to seeing eco-politics being represented at the highest level in the direct vicinity of Hungary, the LMP group said in a statement.
The election of Van der Bellen is clear proof that there is a chance for responsible political leaders to embrace the demand for change by masses dissatisfied with the current elites, it added.
