Viktor Orbán met Marine Le Pen in Paris on Friday to discuss threats Europe faces such as the war in Ukraine and its economic fallout, according to a statement by the Prime Minister’s press chief.
Talks between the Fidesz leader and France’s National Rally leader also focused on inflation and the European Union’s “flawed and dangerous sanctions policy” as well as an “intensifying migration crisis”, the statement said.
The prime minister and Le Pen agreed that European parties “representing traditional values must work together to protect the continent’s nations in times of danger and war”, it added.
The statement said that
neither “Brussels bureaucrats nor the left wing” were capable of protecting Europeans and their families.
Orban also briefed the French politician about the government’s measures unveiled this week to protect families, pensioners, jobs and the cap on utility bills amid “the protracted war”.
Le Pen praised the Hungarian government’s decision to impose a tax on extra profits made by banks and multinationals,
the statement said.

Maybe also discuss campaign financing – given Mrs. Le Pen’s EUR 11 million loans for the 2014 elections came from Russia (yet to be repaid), and then the EUR 10.7 million for this year’s campaign from MKB (main shareholder Mr. Mészáros)
Money makes the world go round!
Birds of a feather flock together.
I was sure M. Emmanuel Macron was the head of state of France. Hmm, must’ve been wrong.
To the best of my knowledge, Mme. Le Pen is a Eurosceptic and a Russophile, but I could be wrong,
We can be very sure PM Orbán didn’t go to meet with her to discuss the rising cost of the humble croissant and the lángos. 😀
Next, we’ll be reading that PM Orbán is going to Pyongyang to meet with Kim Jong Un.
REALLY make a GOOD comedy team these (2) two.
Orban backed her in the recent French election as he did Trump in the past Presidential Elections in the U.S.A.
Interesting Le Penn & Trump – connections with Russia, then add to that the Orban/Hungarian Russia relationship – and ALL (3) three at this point of time in History – LOSERS.
The CV – of these (3) three – continues to be Blackened – by the “Tie” or closeness in connection with Russia – that will not be seen EVER favourably, by those who beleive in the CORE values – of traditional DEMOCRACY.
Deplorable is your real name. The core of traditional democracy is the VOTE and Orban WON ELECTIONS by VOTES. Globalists degenerates have to shut up and respect the VOTES.
@Boing – we all respect democracy and THE VOTES. However – perhaps you could enlighten us with respect to the necessity for Rule by Decree (not exactly democratic) when Mr. Orbán already has a massive parliamentary majority? Curious!
The more and more I think about the storybook idea of PM Orbán paying a visit to Kim Jong Un, the more and more I think that PM Orbán and his advisors should take a serious note (and highlight it in fluoro pink 😀 ). 😀
Surely, it would be a huge feather in his cap if he was to convince Kim Jong Un to stop flaunting his country’s missile capabilities, and instead, make peace with their South Korean brothers and sisters.
We know how very much PM Orbán loves the limelight, and if he were to achieve what no one else was able to (not even the “mighty” Donald Trump!), then surely he’s ego would be in seventh heaven. 🙂 😀 …Who knows, he could even become the pride of the EU. 😉 🙂 😀
Ps. If such an unlikely visit were ever to happen, I would bet my bottom € that Viktor Orbán would not be seated at the other end of a 6 m table, but directly next to KJU on his left side, and if he was lucky, it could be KJU’s right side. 🙂
