Viktor Orbán may have accidentally revealed the long-speculated date of his meeting with Donald Trump during a peace conference in Egypt. In a Fox News recording, the Hungarian prime minister can be heard telling the American president: “I’ll be in Washington on 8 November.”
Orbán approached Trump just as the US president was asking journalists to leave the room, according to a report by Telex. A live microphone captured the short exchange, revealing that Orbán may meet the President of the United States in the US capital in November.
Earlier, in an interview with Mandiner, Orbán had only said that “a meeting will take place, and not too long from now,” without providing a date or location. At that time, however, he indicated that the agenda was already 80% ready, focusing mainly on economic issues, including an investment package involving incoming American projects in Hungary.

Trump heading to Budapest to meet Putin
Meanwhile, Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that next week “senior advisers” from both countries will be holding a meeting, and that he himself will later meet Vladimir Putin in person in Budapest. Their goal, according to Trump, is to hold discussions aimed at ending the Russia–Ukraine war.
In his post, Trump described a “good and productive” phone call and added that President Putin and he will meet at a prearranged location in Budapest, Hungary, to see if they can bring an end to this ‘disgraceful’ war between Russia and Ukraine.
The planned meeting was widely covered not only by American outlets, but also by the British BBC and Hungary’s 444.hu, both highlighting that Trump might attempt to broker peace in Budapest in the context of the Russian–Ukrainian conflict.
Shortly afterwards, Viktor Orbán responded to the news on the social platform X (formerly Twitter). He wrote: “The planned meeting between the American and Russian presidents is great news for the peace-loving people of the world. We are ready!”

He was more concise on Facebook, where he simply posted: “Another great chance for peace. And it’s only Thursday!”
Is Hungary becoming a diplomatic hub?
If Viktor Orbán indeed meets Trump in Washington, and shortly afterwards, Trump travels to Budapest for talks with Putin, Hungary could become a player to watch closely in the coming months. The timeline and preparations, however, have not yet been officially confirmed, as neither Orbán’s office nor the White House has released statements about the meetings. What is certain is that Budapest may once again take on a central role in international diplomacy — whether in economic cooperation or peace negotiations.
This is absolutely MASSIVE! Hungary is punching way above its weight and it is only because the fierce national independence championed by our government.
Imagine if a loser nobody like Magyar, Karacsony, Dobrev, or some other Brussels’ puppet were in power. We’d be just another nondescript statelet where the native people cower and shiver in their homes because the streets are overrun by illegal aliens and energy costs unaffordable while the government would be part of the globalist chorus agitating for a third world war.

Steiner Hungary is one of the few places in the world where Putin can go and not be arrested for war crimes. That’s why it’s being held in Budapest. Putin is persona non-grata in most of the rest of the world. Orban is puppet ally. Putin is trying to stop Trump from sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine so he hastily asked for this meeting. Again, that shows you that the way to end the war is to show strength to deter the aggressor from continuing it. Orban was prologing it by obstructing assistance to Ukraine.
